Grade 7 students from Admiral Seymour School in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside and Westwind School in Richmond have created a striking public artwork, a large set of wings inspired by American muralist Kelsey Montague, as part of the council's Reach to Teach: Immersed in the Arts program.
The wings were unveiled at Steveston Industrial Park, where they invite passers-by to step in and become part of the piece. The project brought students from two communities together to design and paint it side by side.
We thank Porte Development, owners of Steveston Industrial Park, for generously funding this project through their Porte Cares Program.
