Reach to Teach: Immersed in the Arts

Providing opportunities for youth, our Reach to Teach: Immersed in the Arts program has been helping children thrive for nearly a decade.

Reach to Teach: Immersed in the Arts

Reach To Teach meets Roy Lichtenstein & Andy Warhol

For this Spring 2025 session, students from Westwind and Jessie Wowk Schools create their own version of art inspired by Roy Lichtenstein & Andy Warhol. The Reach to Teach program creates possibilities through opportunities. It fosters leadership, growth, and the ability to express oneself though the joy of self-expression while skill-building.

Reach to Teach Meets Tomoaki Murayama

In 2013, Steveston’s Arts Connection, now known as The Arts Conservatory & Renaissance Academy of Learning, had a bold, unique vision to offer a free multi-disciplinary arts program to various elementary schools. This idea would not only make the arts more accessible, but also allow children from different backgrounds to experience what they have in common; the joy of artistic expression and the creative process. Partnering with the Community Arts Council of Richmond (CACR), this program came to be known as Reach to Teach: Immersed in the Arts.

Now having run for 11 consecutive years and serving over 900 students, Reach to Teach brings students together to learn Fine Arts and Performing Arts from The Art Conservatory. For this session, students from Westwind and James McKinney Schools create their own version of art inspired by Tomoaky Murayama.
