Reach to Teach: Immersed in the Arts
Providing opportunities for youth, our Reach to Teach: Immersed in the Arts program has been helping children thrive for nearly a decade.
Reach to Teach Meets Tomoaki Murayama
In 2013, Steveston’s Arts Connection, now known as The Arts Conservatory & Renaissance Academy of Learning, had a bold, unique vision to offer a free multi-disciplinary arts program to various elementary schools. This idea would not only make the arts more accessible, but also allow children from different backgrounds to experience what they have in common; the joy of artistic expression and the creative process. Partnering with the Community Arts Council of Richmond (CACR), this program came to be known as Reach to Teach: Immersed in the Arts.
Now having run for 11 consecutive years and serving over 900 students, Reach to Teach brings students together to learn Fine Arts and Performing Arts from The Art Conservatory. For this session, students from Westwind and James McKinney Schools create their own version of art inspired by Tomoaky Murayama.
Islamic Art Experience – A program of Community Arts Council of Richmond
A series of events focused on sharing the beauty of Islamic art from around the globe, an exciting, educational opportunity for people of all ages. In addition to the entertainment and educational value, these events encourage vibrant cross-cultural exchange among all faiths and cultures. We aim to bring new art, artists, and performers from the local Muslim community in BC and Canada.
